Teachers Union Boss Under Fire For ‘Contemptible’ Remark About Jewish Prayer

via CNN

AFT President Randi Weingarten faced criticism after questioning the absence of women at an all-male Jewish prayer service.

She posted about the issue, prompting backlash from various social media users and a community note from X.

The note explained that Orthodox Jewish prayers have been gender-separated for thousands of years. (Trending: Court Hands Down Crucial 2nd Amendment Ruling)

“Where are the women?” wrote Weingarten to her followers on X.

“Orthodox Jews have gender separated prayers for thousand of years,” said the disclaimer from X referenced the Jewish advocacy group Chabad.

“The women were on the other side praying and would not be visible from someone recording in the ‘men’s section,’” wrote X’s Community Notes department.

“You’re such a contemptible moron,” wrote Levin in response.

“Get off my timeline you idiot,” he demanded.

Political analyst Chad Felix said, “Her wife is a progressive LGBT-focused rabbi,”

And suggested that, “This was her trying to shame the pro-Israel event.”

“She knows her ideological peers will look down on and dismiss them as conservative,” he added.

Weingarten’s post was met with ridicule and accusations of ignorance.

This incident follows a previous online blow-up over her post about the rise in homeschooling, which some attributed to the AFT’s education agenda.

Daily Wire’s Kassy Dillon tweeted that Weingarten “turned off comments because she knows this was a dumb thing to tweet.”

Nikki Neily from Parents Defending Education commented, “Randi Weingarten is Jewish [and] the president of the 1.7 million-member American Federation of Teachers — she was completely unaware that Orthodox Jewish men [and] women pray separately.”

“If you were wondering why the public education system in America has been in decline for decades…” Neily continued.
