Guilty: Ex-Baltimore District Attorney Marilyn Mosby Convicted of Fraud

via CBS

Former Baltimore District Attorney Marilyn Mosby was convicted of mortgage fraud, facing potential decades in prison.

The charges stem from her withdrawal of funds from the city’s Deferred Compensation Plan, with prosecutors alleging she took advantage of the CARES Act by seeking a $40,000 withdrawal despite a salary increase.

She was found guilty of mortgage fraud related to the purchase of a luxury condo in Florida and perjury charges.

Her ex-husband, Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby, was not charged despite his involvement in the financial transactions.

Mosby’s controversial policies and personal financial missteps have drawn significant attention, with the jury delivering a mixed verdict, finding her not guilty on one of the mortgage fraud charges.

Sentencing for her convictions is pending.
