Fani Willis Seeks Protective Order Following Leaked Video In Trump Case

via MSNBC

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed for an emergency protective order following the release of confidential footage of key witness testimony in the election interference case against Donald Trump.

The order aims to prevent the disclosure of discovery materials and was approved for an emergency hearing.

Willis expressed concern that the leaked footage was intended to intimidate witnesses, obstruct the administration of justice, and communicate about the case with defendants and witnesses.

“The release of these confidential video recordings is clearly intended to intimidate witnesses in this case, subjecting them to harassment and threats prior to trial, constitutes indirect communication about the facts of this case with codefendants and witnesses, and obstructs the administration of justice, in violation of the conditions of release imposed on each defendant,” she stated.

The leaked footage includes revelations from individuals involved in the case, with four of them having pleaded guilty as part of plea deals.

The trial for this case, one of four Trump has been indicted in, is not yet scheduled.
