Poll: Potential Trump Conviction Would Not Lift Biden’s Lagging Support

via TODAY

A poll found that President Biden’s historically low approval ratings would likely not be boosted if former President Trump is convicted in his ongoing criminal trial.

Biden’s support was projected to remain around 45% both if Trump was convicted and imprisoned or just convicted.

“They have no case, and we have a very conflicted judge, unfortunately,” Trump said. “There is no case, and it should have never been brought.”

Trump’s support would shift some to undecided but not move significantly to Biden.

The poll suggests a Trump conviction would not greatly impact Biden politically.

It also found increasing numbers of Americans see Trump’s trial as irrelevant to his potential reelection and doubt it will conclude with a fair outcome, as Trump maintains his innocence.

The results indicate the trial may not be a pivotal factor for either leader’s standing with voters.
