Elon Musk has been actively countering “establishment media” narratives on his social media platform Twitter.
He provided full context showing Donald Trump was referring specifically to MS-13 gang members as “animals”, not migrants generally, contradicting headlines.
“I got to know all of these people,” Trump said. “They’re very smart, very streetwise, and I would do the same thing.

“If I had prisons that were teeming with MS-13 [gang members] and all sorts of people that they’ve got to take care of for the next 50 years, right? — young people, they’re in jail for years — if you call them ‘people.’ I don’t know if you call them ‘people.’ In some cases, they’re not people, in my opinion.”
“But I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say. They say, ‘You have to vote against him because did you hear what he said about humanity?’”
“I’ve seen the humanity … and these are bad — these are animals, OK?” Trump said.
Musk also shared that Trump’s “bloodbath” remark referred metaphorically to economic impact if he lost the election, not literal violence.
“Let me tell you something. To China, if you’re listening, President Xi [Jinping] … Those big, monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now — and you think you’re gonna get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us,” Trump said. “No.
“We’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the line and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars — if I get elected.”
“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country,” he said.
Musk aims to educate Twitter users and send them to alternative sources given “legacy media lies”.
Musk’s deal with Don Lemon for a show also fell through, with Musk citing Lemon/CNN’s failing approach and Lemon allegedly asking for an exorbitant salary and perks.
“His approach was basically just ‘CNN, but on social media’, which doesn’t work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying,” Musk said. “And, instead of it being the real Don Lemon, it was really just Jeff Zucker talking through Don, so lacked authenticity.
“All this said, Lemon/Zucker are of course welcome to build their viewership on this platform along with everyone else.”
Lemon reportedly asked for “a $5 million upfront payment on top of an $8 million salary, and an equity stake in the social media platform. Lemon also apparently insisted on a free Tesla Cybertruck, a private jet to Las Vegas complete with a suite for him and his fiancé — and that the company pay for their day drinking and massages.”
Musk faced backlash for fact-checking prominent liberals and media figures who spread what he views as disinformation against political enemies like Trump.
