First Lady Jill Biden was reportedly upset by President Biden’s lengthy 2022 press conference, demanding to know why no one ended it.
Author Katie Rogers’ forthcoming book “American Woman” describes Jill Biden’s confrontation with the President and his aides after the nearly two-hour conference.
“Where were you guys?” Jill had questioned the aides. “Where was the person who was going to end the press conference?”
“She had watched the news conference, and the look on her face told everyone in the room — from the president on down — that they had some explaining to do,” Rogers wrote. “‘Why didn’t anyone stop that?’ she demanded.”
The book portrays her as a fierce protector of her husband, aiming to shield him from difficult situations.
“Everyone stayed silent, looking at one another, and then at her, and back to one another. That included the most powerful man in the world. Her husband essentially played along, not offering an answer, even though aides had slipped him a card suggesting he end the press conference,” Rogers wrote.
This comes amidst public scrutiny over the President’s age and memory lapses, as highlighted in a special counsel report.
Biden’s defiant response during a recent press conference and his avoidance of one-on-one interviews have also drawn attention.
“How bad is your memory? And can you continue as president?” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked.
“My memory is so bad I let you speak,” Biden said.
