President Biden recently made a speech in Las Vegas, during which he mentioned meeting with the late French President Francois Mitterrand, who passed away nearly 30 years ago.
This statement was made in the context of warning about the potential risks of a second Trump presidency.
Biden also recounted a story about a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron during a G7 meeting in England.
“I sat down and I said, ‘America’s back,’” Biden said. “And Mitterrand from Germany – I mean from France – looked at me and said…”
“Well, how long are you back for?” he finished after a long pause.
