via NBC

Bookmakers at Oddschecker have named U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik as the favorite to become the Republican nominee for vice president, with odds heavily factoring in the assumption that former President Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are also considered favorites, with Senator Tim Scott and former HUD Secretary Ben Carson following closely.

Other candidates, including Nikki Haley and Kari Lake, have longer shot odds.

Trump is expected to announce his running mate after the Republican primary, but he has hinted at having already made a selection, keeping speculation ongoing.

On MSNBC, professor Jason Johnson of Morgan State University and Amanda Carpenter, writer and editor for Protect Democracy, joined Alicia Menendez in for Nicolle Wallace on Deadline White House.

The group discussed “speculation over Donald Trump picking Rep. Elise Stefanik for his Vice President nominee as he looks to wrap up the Republican nomination by the South Carolina primary”:
