Rep. Dean Phillips’s 2024 presidential campaign released an ad criticizing President Joe Biden and the DNC for not filing for the historic first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire.
The ad, costing $250,000, will run until Dec. 26 in the state.

While some Democrats are upset, a write-in campaign for Biden is being backed by prominent figures.
“For a century, New Hampshire has held the first-in-the-nation primary, and Granite Staters have faithfully carried out that grave responsibility, propelling the candidacies of some and ending the candidacies of others,” Rep. Dean Phillips’s (D-MN) campaign ad says.
“Now, Joe Biden has ordered New Hampshire to step aside,” the ad says, referencing the DNC’s shift to the primary calendar.
“That’s not the New Hampshire way.”
“Congressman Dean Phillips is meeting with New Hampshire voters in diners, on street corners, and in taverns, the way it’s always been done,” it adds.
However, some believe this decision may backfire on the president.
“In some respects, the write-in campaign could backfire on the president,” former state House Speaker Steve Shurtleff said.
“If he isn’t successful, it would really put them in a bad light coming out of New Hampshire,” he added.
