Prince Harry in Court Win Against British Tabloid over Phone Hacking

via CBS

Prince Harry has won a phone hacking lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mirror, receiving over £140,000 in damages.

The High Court found phone hacking to be “widespread and habitual” at Mirror Group Newspapers, with executives aware of the practice and yet covering it up.

“Instead of doing so, they turned a blind eye to what was going on and positively concealed it,” Justice Timothy Fancourt said. (Trending: Kid Rock Rages Against ‘Woke’ Target)

“Had the illegal conduct been stopped, the misuse of the duke’s private information would have ended much sooner.”

The judge ruled in favor of Prince Harry on almost half of the sample stories, awarding damages for distress and aggravated damages.

This is part of his crusade against the British media, making him the first senior royal to testify in court in over a century.

The legal battle is one of several against newspaper groups, with this ruling being the most significant so far.

“Today is a great day for truth, as well as accountability,” Harry stated.
