The investigation focuses on Hunter’s business dealings, raising concerns about potential misconduct.
“Mr. Biden has offered to appear at a hearing on the December 13, 2023, date you have reserved, or another date this month, to answer any question pertinent and relevant to the subject matter,” attorney Abbe Lowell wrote.
“He [Hunter] is making this choice because the Committee has demonstrated time and time again it uses closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort, the facts and misinform the American public—a hearing would ensure transparency and truth in these proceedings,” he said.
“We look forward to working out the schedule.”
“I’m not going to comment on it… I did not. It was just a bunch of lies,” Biden said.
“An Associated Press poll showed that a significant 70% of Americans, including 40% of Democrats, harbor concerns about the legality and ethics of the Biden family’s business interests,” the report noted.
The situation has strained relations between House Republicans and the Biden family, with a looming possibility of contempt of Congress proceedings if Hunter Biden does not comply.
