Former President Donald Trump has pledged to investigate “Marxist local district attorneys” if re-elected in 2024.
He criticized left-wing billionaire George Soros for funding district attorneys and vowed to appoint U.S. attorneys who are the “polar opposite” of Soros-backed prosecutors.
Trump also called for federal subpoenas into DA offices’ emails and records to investigate potential violations of federal civil rights laws. (Trending: Tucker Reveals The Moment He Became A Full-Blown Trump Supporter)

“As we completely overhaul the federal Department of Justice and FBI, we will also launch sweeping civil rights investigations into Marxist local district attorneys,” Trump said.
“And that’s what we have—they are Marxist in many cases.”
“We will have a complete investigation into the use of police state tactics by federal authorities to arrest conservatives and Christians.”
The controversy involves Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who brought charges against Trump and received campaign donations from Soros.
“I think some on the right would rather focus on far-fetched conspiracy theories than on the serious charges against the former president,” Soros said.
“The funds I provide enable sensible reform-minded candidates to receive a hearing from the public. Judging by the results, the public likes what it’s hearing.”
The “rogue prosecutor movement” has elected like-minded prosecutors since 2014, aiming to reform the criminal justice system.
“There is actually a movement; it’s a Marxist movement that believes we should abolish prisons in the United States,” criminal justice expert at the Maryland Public Policy Institute Sean Kennedy said.
“Many members of this movement … bought into the idea that our criminal justice system is systemically racist, that we have a problem with mass incarceration, we arrest too many people, incarcerate too many people.”
“And so because of that, they want to lower prison population, and they want to basically make many, many things that have traditionally been crimes either not be crimes or make the punishment for them very minor, like a speeding ticket, civil infraction,” he added.
