Joe Biden: ‘If Trump Wasn’t Running, I’m Not Sure I’d Be Running’

via NBC News

A statement from 81-year-old President Joe Biden is raising eyebrows after he admitted that he’s “not sure” he would be running from re-election if Donald Trump wasn’t running.

In contrast to Trump, who is running to fix serious problems facing America, Biden appears to be running simply to maintain power and control for Democrats.

“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win for the sake of the country,” Biden said at a fundraiser at a private home near Boston, Massachusetts.

If re-elected, Biden would be 82 at the start of his second term and 86 by the end of it. He is already the oldest president in U.S. history.

“Trump’s not even hiding the ball anymore. He’s telling us what he’s going to do. He’s making no bones about it,” Biden warned.

The question that many people are wondering is whether the Democrat Party will bring in former First Lady Michelle Obama as the presidential nominee in 2024.

Polls show that Michelle is far more favorable and more admired among Democrat voters compared to both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz made the bold prediction during his podcast “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

“Here’s the scenario that I think is perhaps the most likely and most dangerous,” Cruz said. “In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama.”

“Barack Obama is already running the Biden administration,” Cruz said. “I think he is already the puppet master, behind this Biden White House.”

“I don’t think Joe Biden is the decision maker. And so, when I see the media turning on Joe Biden right now, I think the odds of Michelle Obama parachuting in in August of 2024 have risen dramatically,” Cruz added.

Podcaster Joe Rogan and political commentator Tucker Carlson also suggested Michelle Obama could enter the race.

Joe Biden currently faces an impeachment inquiry over his involvement in an international bribery scheme. Simultaneously, Hunter Biden faces three federal criminal charges and up to 25 years in prison.

Making matters worse, Kamala Harris is the least popular vice president in US history. Poles overwhelmingly show she doesn’t have enough support to win the White House.

Tucker Carlson argued that Democrats are looking for ways to replace Biden. “I think this is to make way for Michelle,” Carlson said. “Just my view. Not provable. We’ll see.”

Former GOP presidential campaign advisor Myra Adams says that Michelle would benefit tremendously from her “rock star” status, similar the Democrats’ obsession of former President Barack Obama in 2008.

Michelle Obama is consistently one of the more popular public figures in the United States. A recent YouGov poll found that 77% of Americans have a favorable opinion of her, while only 15% have an unfavorable opinion.

If Joe Biden does not run for re-election in 2024, Michelle Obama would be a leading contender for the Democratic nomination. A recent Hill-HarrisX poll found that she is the second most popular potential candidate among Democratic voters, after Vice President Kamala Harris.
