A number of reports have taken media by storm regarding Donald Trump’s agenda to dismantle American democracy and establish a fascist system.
The reports, all from reputable publications, expose Trump’s admiration for authoritarian leaders, his use of extra-legal violence to suppress dissent, and his efforts to solidify power.
While most of the evidence comes directly from Trump and his team, the primary concern is that the audience most in need of such information may not ever engage with it. (Trending: Joe Biden Admits He’s ‘Not Sure’ About Running If Trump Wasn’t)
Not the odds, but the stakes.
That's my shortand for the organizing principle we most need from journalists covering the 2024 election. Not who has what chances of winning, but the consequences for our democracy. Not the odds, but the stakes. https://t.co/czKcpu3GXV

“All you have to do is listen to Donald Trump and the loyalists around Donald Trump. He is telling you what’s going to happen,” Michelle Goldberg stated on MSNBC.
The media’s historical approach of presenting “both sides” without fact-checking has contributed to a public perception that all political rhetoric is equally suspicious, potentially undermining the impact of reports which may reveal Trump’s dangerous agenda.
All of these articles calling Trump a dictator are about one thing: legitimizing illegal and violent conduct as we get closer to the election.
Everyone needs to take a chill pill.
