On Thanksgiving Day, U.S. and international forces in Iraq and Syria were targeted with mortar and armed drone attacks, with no casualties or infrastructure damage reported.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attacks, which included suicide drones and militia forces using rocket-propelled grenades.

There have been a total of 66 attacks against U.S. troops in the region since October 17, resulting in at least 62 injuries.

These attacks followed Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7.

Retired Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joe Kent criticized the situation, attributing it to failed policies and corruption.

“In Iraq & Syria our troops are being served rocket attacks paid for by the US taxpayer thanks to our stupid 2 decades of failed policies & Biden’s corruption. Don’t say ‘thank you for your service,’ vote out the scum that got us here & keeps us here,” he wrote.
