Qatar’s Prime Minister Dodges Question On Future Of Hamas Inside Country

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani avoided a question about the whereabouts of Hamas leaders living in Qatar, stating that the country only deals with the political representatives of Hamas.

He emphasized the solid relationship and alliance with the U.S., highlighting their cooperation in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

When asked about Hamas commander Yahya Sinwar, Sheikh Mohammed claimed he had no information about his whereabouts, stating that such information is only available to those close to him. (Trending: US Troops Deliver Devastating Blow to Biden)

“In this country, a number of Republican lawmakers, in particular, have publicly called for your country to hand over those Hamas political leaders,” said CBS’ Margaret Brennan to the prime minister.

“What is the future? Will they remain in Qatar?” she then asked.

“Margaret, our relation with U.S. is a very solid relationship and alliance that been established throughout the decades,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“We’ve been working together very closely in ensuring peace and stability in the region. And, in several occasions, Qatar has been always stepping up to this partnership,” he continued.

“And, if you recall Afghanistan, and, currently right now, we’ve been working very closely with the White House, with the CIA and State Department to ensure that this deal is happening,” added the Qatari leader.
