Disney and Apple movies had disappointing performances over Thanksgiving, reflecting Hollywood’s ongoing box office struggle.

Despite strong summer releases, theater numbers remain weak compared to pre-pandemic levels. Disney’s “Wish” and Apple’s “Napoleon,” both with $200 million budgets, underperformed, with projected earnings of $37 million and $30 million, respectively.

Criticism of “Wish” includes its concept, with Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro suggesting the plot portrays God negatively. (Trending: SNL Legend Unleashes On Democrats)

“It seems that the plot is, essentially, about how God is bad,” said Shapiro.

“So, what it is is a king [who] grants people’s wishes, but he has an apprentice … and this apprentice finds out that the king is only selectively granting people’s wishes, and is picking and choosing,” summarized the news analyst.

“This is a terrible, terrible thing — she will grant everyone’s wishes!” mocked Shapiro.

“Which, you don’t have to go far afield to understand that what that kind of is is, ‘God is bad because he said no to you sometimes.’ So it would be better if there were an empowered female character to get up and make sure that all wishes be granted across the board,” exclaimed the conservative host.

Disney’s adaptation challenges continue, as their “Snow White” film faces criticism, while Daily Wire plans its own adaptation for 2024.
