Black Americans Turning on Biden in 2024

via LiveNOW from FOX

In 2024, Joe Biden may face unexpected challenges with black voters, as some have begun expressing disillusionment with his performance.

The Wall Street Journal reported on a black mother who voted for Biden in 2020 but now feels left behind due to rising prices and stagnant wages.

“I really did think he was going to help people in my situation,” Michelle Smith, 46, stated.

“It’s like all of them talk a good game until they get elected.”

“I think I’m not going to vote, period,” she added.

Concerns about diminished black voter turnout and potential support for Republicans, including Donald Trump, are worrying Democrats.

“Party leaders are chiefly concerned about diminished Black voter turnout, but are also worried that some of these voters will instead back Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, who is the front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination,” journalist Catherine Lucey wrote.

“Hoping to prevent a drop-off, Democrats are pumping money into voter canvassing, education and advertising in battleground states.”

Quoting an anonymous black Democrat, she wrote, “I am absolutely concerned. Frankly, I am extremely concerned.”

“This is a huge problem.”

“The risk is that people stay home,” the Democrat pressed to Lucey. “I think the problem is Black voters are consistently underinvested in.”

A New York Times/Siena College poll found that 22% of black voters would consider voting for Trump in a hypothetical rematch.

The shift poses significant trouble for Biden’s campaign, as black voters have traditionally been a crucial base for the Democratic Party.
