Democratic Rep. Colin Allred of Texas’ 32nd District, who is running for the Senate against Republican incumbent Ted Cruz in 2024, has close ties with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a left-wing group advocating for transgender issues.
Allred has received donations and support from HRC for his congressional campaigns.
The HRC has advocated for transgender rights, including supporting gender transitions for children and the use of puberty blockers. (Trending: Court Hands Down Crucial 2nd Amendment Ruling)
I am proud to have earned a perfect score on @HRC’s Congressional Scorecard. No matter who you are or who you love, everyone should be able to live freely without fear of discrimination or violence. At an HRC event in 2019, Allred boasted, “Of all the support that I receive from any group, there might not be any more that I’m more proud of than HRC.”
HRC has reportedly also shared controversial information about puberty blockers in the past.
“Fact: Puberty blockers are lifesaving, completely reversible, & have been used for years to treat trans kids AND children with precocious puberty,” posted a Texas branch of HRC.
Jarrod Griffin, from the Truth and Courage PAC has come out in support of Allred.
“Colin Allred will do anything to support the radical transgender movement, which is why he’s spent years working with a far-left group that advocates for taking away the rights of parents who don’t want harmful, life-altering ‘gender transitioning’ procedures to be performed on their kids,” claimed Griffin.
Allred has a perfect score from HRC on LGBT issues, but this association has drawn criticism from conservative groups.
