Former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby was convicted of perjury charges related to false claims for COVID-19 relief funds.
She falsely certified financial hardships due to the pandemic to withdraw $90,000 from the City of Baltimore’s Deferred Compensation Plan, despite receiving her full salary.
Mosby faces pending charges for fraudulent mortgage applications and potential disbarment.

By signing the request for the funds, Mosby “affirm[ed] under penalties for perjury the statements and acknowledgments made in this request.”
Prosecutors were able to convince a jury that she did not experience financial hardships was dishonest when requesting the financial assistance.
“I’m blessed. I have nothing else to say,” was the only reported statement made by Mosby after her appearance in court.

Her previous high-profile prosecution of police officers in the Freddy Gray case has drawn criticism.
