Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is set to testify about being attacked at their San Francisco home.

The attacker, David DePape, allegedly targeted Pelosi and other Democratic officials, claiming to act against child abuse and corruption.

DePape’s defense asserts his serious belief in conspiracy theories.

“The evidence in this trial will show that Mr. DePape believes all these things … with every ounce of his being,” said DePape’s defense attorney, Jodi Linker.

The assault led to serious injuries for Paul Pelosi, and the trial is ongoing with DePape pleading not guilty.
