Pro-Palestinian demonstrators vandalized the White House gates with signs and paint during a protest demanding a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

The Secret Service made no arrests, while the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department arrested one person for destruction of property.

“The Metropolitan Police Department handles hundreds of protests, demonstrations, and other events every year, and we support and facilitate people safely and peacefully exercising their First Amendment right to protest,” Acting Chief Pamela A. Smith said. (Trending: Obama’s Ignorant Remarks On Israel)

The protesters accused President Biden of enabling a “genocide” of Palestinians and called for the U.S. to end its aid to Israel.

The protest followed a conflict between Israel and Hamas, with activists blaming Israel for civilian casualties and taking hostages, and Tel Aviv responding with military strikes.

The protesters also defaced statues in downtown Washington during the demonstration.
