On Instagram, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) endorsed Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s (D-Texas) widely circulated remark about a “bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body”
The GOP congresswoman, set to celebrate her 50th birthday next week, mentioned in the caption of a workout video featuring the song “Unstoppable” by Sia.
The republican congresswoman said, “Yes my body is built and strong 💪 NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle,” Greene’s video appears to be a reaction to a remark by Crockett on Thursday, following Greene’s criticism of her eyelashes.
“I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” were Greene’s words to Crockett which led to chaos within the House Oversight Committee. Following an exchange involving Greene, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Committee chair James Comer (R-Ky.), Crockett asked for clarification on the topics that could be addressed during hearings.
The political journey of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been characterized by a series of controversies and polarizing statements that have drawn widespread attention and scrutiny. From her history of incendiary behavior to her unapologetic stance on contentious issues, Greene’s presence in the political arena has sparked intense debate and raised questions about the boundaries of acceptable discourse in public office.
The controversy surrounding Greene extends to her social media presence, where she has been known for making controversial posts and comments. From liking a comment suggesting violence against Rep. Nancy Pelosi to expressing support for conspiracy theories such as QAnon, her online activities have fueled intense backlash and raised concerns about the impact of her rhetoric.
“I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling,” Crockett said. “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”
Over the weekend, Crockett applied for a trademark for her comment, which has been transformed into popular memes on the internet. The committee is considering whether to charge U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland with contempt of Congress.

This unyielding approach has contributed to the persistence of the controversy and has raised questions about her willingness to engage in constructive dialogue and accountability.
The controversies surrounding Greene have had broader implications for governance and public discourse, as her statements and actions have ignited debates about the boundaries of acceptable conduct for elected officials. The polarizing nature of her presence in Congress has underscored the challenges of navigating ideological divisions and fostering constructive political dialogue.
