Los Angeles police in riot gear arrived at UCLA to intervene after hours of clashes between anti-Israel and pro-Israel protesters on campus.
Earlier in the evening, LAPD had not yet gained control of the situation, as violence unfolded between the opposing demonstration groups at UCLA.
The mayor condemned the scenes as absolutely inexcusable and announced police had now arrived to take control of the campus situation.
“The violence unfolding this evening at UCLA is absolutely abhorrent and inexcusable,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wrote. “LAPD has arrived on campus.”
