A former senior policy advisor to the Obama White House was arrested in the UK and charged with child sex offenses.
Rahamim “Rami” Shy, 46, of New Jersey was apprehended by police in Bedfordshire, England in late February and charged with arranging a child sex offense, possession of indecent images of children, and possessing a prohibited image of a child.
He appeared in Luton Crown Court and will remain in custody until a hearing in June, with his trial scheduled for August.
Shy had most recently worked for Citi banking group but was no longer employed there.
During his time advising the White House, he helped create strategies against al-Qaeda and Taliban and briefed officials on terror financing while working at the Treasury Department from 2008-2014.
He also previously worked for Hillary Clinton during her time as Secretary of State.
