President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign announced it raised $90 million in March, far surpassing former President Donald Trump’s $43 million over the same period. Biden’s haul brought his total fundraising for 2024 to $187 million with $192 million cash on hand.
In contrast, Trump’s fundraising has lagged his 2020 totals.
Biden officials highlighted the stark financial advantage and reliance on small donations compared to Trump’s “cash-strapped” operation funneling funds toward legal fees.
“The money we are raising is historic, and it’s going to the critical work of building a winning operation, focused solely on the voters who will decide this election — offices across the country, staff in our battleground states, and a paid media program meeting voters where they are,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez stated.
“It’s a stark contrast to Trump’s cash-strapped operation that is funneling the limited and billionaire-reliant funds it has to pay off his various legal fees.”
Both candidates will continue aggressive fundraising efforts heading into the critical midterms and 2024 election, underscoring the campaign cash advantage Biden currently holds over Trump at this early stage.
