A recent Gallup poll found that only 47% of Democrats approve of President Biden’s handling of the Hamas-Israel war, down 13 points since October, representing a major challenge for his reelection prospects.
Pro-Hamas protesters shouted slogans like “[Expletive] Joe Biden!” outside a Biden fundraising event, with signs saying “War pig” and “Shame on you.”
“Genocide Joe has got to go!” protestors chanted.
“Shame on you, Joe Biden,” another yelled.
“Blood on your hands,” another said.
Of five issues, Democrats gave Biden’s poorest marks for his handling of the war.
While Democrats widely oppose Israel’s actions, overall 79% of Americans support Israel over Hamas, unchanged since February.
Biden’s approval rating for the Middle East situation, at 27%, is his lowest of the five issues.
This is because far fewer Democrats (47%) approve of his handling of the Israelis-Palestinians conflict than other issues.
Democrats’ views run counter to broader American support for Israel.
