Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly set to become the next James Bond after Daniel Craig’s departure from the role.
At age 33, Taylor-Johnson is poised to take on the iconic role in a fresh yet classic interpretation.
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back,” a source stated.
“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
His previous work demonstrating charisma, physicality and depth has positioned him as the ideal candidate for the post-Craig era.
Sources say Taylor-Johnson is expected to finalize his contract this week to take on the prestigious but demanding role.
“I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment,” Taylor-Johnson said.
As the new Bond, he would continue the franchise’s legacy while putting his own stamp on the suave spy.
The announcement would mark a new chapter for the decades-spanning film series that has seen several notable actors portray Bond in different eras, from Sean Connery’s original portrayal to Daniel Craig’s grittier modern take.
