Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment is developing a feature film adaptation of the popular video game The Sims, in collaboration with game publisher Electronic Arts and studio Vertigo Entertainment.
Director Kate Herron, known for the Marvel series Loki, will helm the project, co-writing the screenplay with Briony Redman.
Like Robbie’s successful Barbie movie, The Sims does not have an inherent storyline but provides creative control over characters’ lives.
As one of the best-selling video game franchises ever with over 200 million copies sold, The Sims was previously in development in 2007 and 2019 but those attempts were abandoned.
No release date has been set for the new film, which will be produced by Robbie following her success with Barbie.
