Far-left protesters disrupted a Turning Point USA event at the University of Memphis featuring Kyle Rittenhouse, shouting slogans like “Black Lives Matter” and “No justice, no peace.”
The school made last-minute changes to ticketing that limited student attendance while allowing protesters to get seats.
“The school has gone to incredible lengths to hamstring this event,” Kirk wrote on X.
During Rittenhouse’s speech, protesters stood and shouted as they left.
After the event, protesters chanted slogans and chased attendees, with police intervening to prevent assaults.
“We had thousands of people register for tickets to this event, but the school would only give us a venue with 330 seat. No overflow. No larger venue,” Kirk said.
“The campus police and school administrator shrugged their shoulders,” Kirk said.
The Turning Point chapter president was doxed, and protesters followed students to the parking garage, spitting on and hitting cars.
Charlie Kirk criticized the university for pandering to protesters and failing to provide a safe event, noting Memphis’ homicide rate, while students and Rittenhouse were deemed the problem.
“This is what happens when school administrators pander to petulant children. You get chaos. Our brave students will press forward but this is unacceptable, especially in a Tennessee,” Kirk wrote.
“Memphis had record homicides last year, but apparently our students and Kyle Rittenhouse are the problem for the University of Memphis.”
Police had to step in multiple times to separate protesters and attendees.
