A Gallup poll found Americans’ satisfaction with the US’s global image under President Biden is at its lowest point since 2017 at 33%, well below the 53% under Trump in 2020.
Satisfaction has declined from 37% in Biden’s previous years.
Majorities of Republicans and independents now view the global image negatively, compared to mostly positive views from Democrats.
Only 37% say Biden himself is respected internationally, down from 58% in early 2021.
The 33% satisfaction rating matches Biden’s overall 38% job approval, suggesting weakness ahead of the 2024 election where incumbents usually need 50% approval to win reelection.
The poll highlights declining confidence in US leadership and standing worldwide under the Biden administration.
