Nearly 6,000 participants were surveyed on issues like microaggressions and income inequality.
While such views were not as widespread as media suggests, women were more likely to hold them than men by 3 to 1.

“One of the central revelations of the study was that critical social justice attitudes are not as widespread in Finland as might be inferred from public and media discussions,” the report noted.
“Three out of five women view ‘woke’ ideas positively, but only one out of seven men,” it added.
Most notably, agreement that racial income gaps are due to racism showed the strongest link to diminished mental well-being and happiness.
The research adds to understanding that obsessively focusing on perceived offenses and lacking control, as is common in social justice ideologies, can undermine well-being.
In contrast, appreciating what one has and making peace with external factors tends to promote greater life satisfaction and emotional resilience.
