A recent poll of likely voters in North Carolina found former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup.
The Cygnal/John Locke Foundation/Carolina Journal survey showed Trump leading Biden 45% to 40% overall with leaners included.
When broken down, 41.1% said they would “definitely” vote for Trump compared to 33.2% for Biden, while another 4.2% and 6.6% respectively said they would “probably” vote for their candidate.

Trump’s lead is “somewhat unsurprising given that he won the state in 2016 and 2020, by 3.6% and 1.3%, respectively,” John Locke Foundation CEO Donald Bryson said.
The top issues for voters were found to be immigration at 25%, the economy at 18%, abortion at 13%, and inflation at 10%.
A separate WRAL-Survey USA poll also showed Trump leading Biden in North Carolina by five points.
