Political pundits have warned that President Joe Biden’s strong support for Israel could harm his 2024 campaign, as evidenced by anti-Israel protesters interrupting First Lady Jill Biden’s speech in Tucson, Arizona.
Despite supporters chanting “Four more years” to drown out the protesters, interruptions continued with calls for “Free Palestine.”
“We’re going to talk to our friends about why this election is so important, tell them what’s at stake,” Jill said. “Sign up for phone banks and canvasing shifts. We’re going to meet this moment.”
“You and your husband support the genocide of the Palestinian people,” one heckler yelled.
“Free Palestine!” another later yelled.
A poll by New York Times/Sienna College on the same day showed Biden’s approval rating was low, with 47% strongly disapproving of his job performance.
