Donald Trump faced legal challenges with multiple indictments and civil trials, including a pending criminal trial in Manhattan, making him the first former American president to face prosecution.
His behavior in court, including directing his lawyers and courtroom outbursts, has led to significant penalties.
“I would expect Trump to try to act up,” lawyer Ty Cobb said. “He needs to be aggressively muzzled by the lawyers if he is to avoid offending the jury.”
Trump’s new legal team faces the challenge of managing his behavior to avoid alienating the jury.
If Trump loses, “New York is screwed,” attorney Alina Habba said.
“They are not living in the real word,” Habba said of their opponents. “They’re living in this crazy world.”
Trump’s history of influencing trial proceedings and his desire to testify could complicate his defense strategy, especially with a judge known for his strict approach.
