Potential 2024 Republican vice presidential candidates for Donald Trump are emerging, including Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama.
After Britt was tapped to deliver the GOP response to Biden’s State of the Union address, former Speaker Newt Gingrich said this high-profile opportunity could position Britt as a top contender for Trump’s running mate.
Others mentioned include Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.

Gingrich said, “Senator Britt who is the new freshman senator from Alabama, and who some very smart people believe will be Trump’s vice presidential pick — she has her big audition night because she’s going to deliver the response to Biden.”
“It’ll be interesting to see if Britt rises to the occasion. If she does, it will be a major step up in her potentially being Trump’s vice presidential candidate,” said Gingrich.
Steve Bannon said, “My thinking is very structured that I believe President Trump will have a female as the vice president.”
Trump himself indicated Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, who accompanied Trump on a border visit, is on his shortlist.
Britt had endorsed Trump’s candidacy, saying he alone can secure the border.
As Trump continues winning GOP primaries against challengers like Nikki Haley, observers are scrutinizing his vice presidential selection given its importance in solidifying his candidacy.
But with the general election still months away, speculation continues over who emerges as Trump’s final choice.
