The poll also shows Nikki Haley leading Biden by 8 points.
“The focus for many will be on Trump’s advantage, but his support hasn’t wavered much since late fall,” Republican Daron Shaw said. “The more interesting question is whether Biden can resurrect his standing among African Americans, Hispanics, and younger voters, and boost his edge with independents.”
Trump’s support comes from key Democratic groups, while Biden struggles with certain demographics.
In a potential 5-way race, Trump remains ahead, while Haley loses her lead to Biden.
Economy and immigration are key voting issues, with Trump leading among immigration voters and Biden among abortion voters.
Biden’s approval ratings are low, particularly on immigration.
“In an election year where the two major party candidates are both viewed so negatively, RFK Jr. has the potential to tip the scale, but it’s unclear in which direction,” Democrat Chris Anderson said.
Voters are more likely to say Trump’s policies helped them compared to Biden’s policies.
Concerns about the candidates’ motives and mental soundness persist.
“An election between two candidates who can’t break 50% on honesty and where majorities think they’re not prioritizing the country is a depressing prospect,” Anderson said.
Biden is viewed as more honest than Trump, but both are seen as dishonest.
VP Harris has low favorable ratings.
Charges against Trump are seen as legitimate by a majority, while opinions on impeachment proceedings against Biden are divided.
