House Republicans demand information from Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas regarding the illegal immigrant charged with murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley.
The GOP lawmakers criticize the Biden Administration’s immigration policies, stating they increase the likelihood of criminal aliens entering the U.S.
Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Chairman Tom McClintock wrote, “Criminal aliens exploit vulnerabilities in our nation’s immigration system to the detriment of those in the United States.”
“The Biden Administration’s border and immigration policies only increase the likelihood that criminal aliens will successfully enter and remain in the U.S.,” their letter continued.
The accused, Ibarra, had multiple encounters with law enforcement after crossing the border illegally.
Jordan and McClintock seek details on Ibarra’s history, entries into the U.S., CBP processing, and ICE detainer status, setting a deadline for the information request.
