A February 2022 Gallup poll showed President Biden’s approval rating falling to a new low of 38%, just one point above his all-time low.
His ratings were below 50% on key issues like immigration (28%), the Middle East conflict (30-40%), foreign affairs (30-40%), and the economy (30-40%).
The poll of over 1,000 adults found 59% disapproved of Biden’s job performance.
Biden’s 38% rating was 3 points lower than January’s 41% and matched previous lows in 2021.
His average 39.8% third-year approval rating was the second worst for a post-WWII first-term president.
The results indicate Biden faces significant challenges to improve his ratings with independents and Democrats to have a chance at reelection in 2024, given the historically low approval levels.
