Donald Trump’s new sneaker line with red soles, including a golden pair sold for $400, could lead to more legal issues for him, according to a CNN analyst.
“This is yet another lawsuit in the making,” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said.
The shoes resemble those of high-end designer Christian Louboutin, known for his trademark red soles.
“Louboutin, who is a hugely famous top-line designer of women’s shoes … his shoes famously have a red sole,” political commentator Maria Cardona said. “He has been in some lawsuits before where the court at the European Union, the court in India have said this red sole is a trademark of this shoe designer.”
“It would be really ironic for this thing that Donald Trump did in order to make money to pay his lawsuits to accrue yet another additional lawsuit,” she said.
Trump’s shoe release follows a recent fraud judgment and mounting legal fees, including damages owed to E. Jean Carroll.
The sneakers, featuring gold laces and Trump branding, quickly sold out after launch.
