Cameron Clapp, a 37-year-old motivational speaker and actor who lost three limbs as a teenager, was arrested for his role in the January 6th Capitol riots.
As a 15-year-old, Clapp was hit by a train after passing out on the tracks on 9/11, resulting in the amputation of both legs and one arm.
Clapp said in 2005, “Of course I miss my arm and my legs and stuff but I don’t dwell on it or get upset about anything. Just going to do what I need to do to be myself and be happy.”
In 2020, Clapp posted, “Happy New Year’s Eve from DC. Super grateful! This year has brought incredible clarity and perspective. Love and world peace to all.”
He became an inspiration for his recovery. In 2021, the FBI identified Clapp in photos and videos from the Capitol riots, showing him waving a flag inside with his prosthetic arm.
Surveillance footage showed him entering and leaving through a northwest door.
The FBI reportedly also has a video of Clapp saying, “I made it in but there’s—Nobody’s in, like everyone’s leaving. So, I did my part. I’m… satisfied.”
Clapp had flown from California to Washington D.C. days prior, posting on social media from national landmarks.
He now faces federal charges for entering the Capitol building during the insurrection.
