Hollywood director Rob Reiner is once again promoting the idea of “Christian nationalism” as a threat, saying conservative Christians who are politically active go against Jesus’ teachings of peace, love, and helping others.
In an interview about his new documentary “God & Country,” Reiner blamed Christian nationalism for the January 6 Capitol riot.
“This movement that they have here seems completely antithetical to the teachings of Jesus,” Rob Reiner said.

“Jesus was about peace and love and helping thy neighbor and those less fortunate than ourselves. And I thought that was something that we should all aspire to. So to me this movement is going totally opposite the teachings of Jesus,” he said.
“The Christian nationalist movement… it says that it’s my way or the highway and will resort to violence if we don’t get our way, which is what we saw happening on January 6,” he said.
The term has become a buzzword for Democrats to galvanize their base by portraying politically active conservative Christians as a common enemy.
Democrats are pushing this narrative as Biden’s approval declines, hoping to rally progressives who are alienated by his positions on Israel.
However, the documentary is already facing criticism, as one man featured prominently in its trailer says he has no idea what Christian nationalism is and does not consider himself part of the movement.
