The trailer for Season 4 of the popular Christian series “The Chosen” gives a glimpse at Jesus struggling as difficulties increase for him and his followers, stirring both devotion and division.
In the trailer, Jesus, played by Jonathan Roumie, acknowledges the human desire to avoid difficult news and that his message offends religious leaders, while his followers seek earthly things.
“The human desire to avoid difficult news sometimes makes one deaf,” Roumie’s character says. “I speak the words of my Father in Heaven and the religious leaders call it blasphemy.”
Jesus' message—in word and deed—stirs up even greater devotion and division. Even among his closest followers. Watch as the story accelerates rapidly toward its inescapable conclusion. Season 4, Episodes 4-6 are in theaters now.

“My own followers, they ask for earthly things, prestige,” he said. “They take offense when I show humility, indifference to the powers of this world.”
Season 4 episodes 4-6 will be shown exclusively in theaters for two weeks starting this week.
“Jesus’ message—in word and deed—stirs up even greater devotion and division,” the post read. “Even among his closest followers. Watch as the story accelerates rapidly toward its inescapable conclusion. Season 4, Episodes 4-6 are in theaters now.”
“SNEAK PEEK: Little James and Thaddeus seem to be putting the pieces together about what’s to come—and it doesn’t look good,” the post added. “You can see what happens next when Season 4, Episodes 4-6 hit theaters this Thursday.”
Previous seasons have seen strong theatrical viewership.
Creators say Season 4 is the biggest yet, warranting the theatrical rollout for fans to experience the story of Jesus together on the big screen.
It continues the collaboration between “The Chosen” and Fathom Events to make history as the first television show distributed this way.
“Last year we dipped our toes in the water by releasing a few episodes in theaters. The response was so strong, and Season Four is so big, that we knew we and Fathom had to give viewers the theatrical experience for all eight episodes,” director Dallas Jenkins said.
“We’re excited to make history with The Chosen,” Fathom Events Ray Nutt said. “This collaboration has been such an amazing experience! Watching the fans come out in such large numbers to watch the story of Jesus on the big screen has been both informative and heartwarming. We look forward to bringing Season 4 to theaters so those fans can continue to share this story together.”
