Fitness expert Jillian Michaels openly criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom in an interview, directly attributing her move to Florida to his leadership and policies.
She criticized Newsom for releasing a repeat offender who broke into her home during COVID and his hypocrisy over dining at the French Laundry without a mask after restricting others.
“Guess who let the guy out during COVID? Because I got the letter. Newsom,” Michaels said.
Michaels said Florida feels less “crazy” than California under Newsom.
“It feels less crazy than it does here,” she said.
Several other celebrities have also moved from California to states like Texas, citing issues like high taxes, overcrowding, and dissatisfaction with the state’s governance and regulatory environment under leaders like Newsom.
The high-profile departures demonstrate a broader trend of people and businesses reassessing their presence in California.
