Fulton County, GA District Attorney Fani Willis was forced to accept subpoenas from Republican-controlled House committees via U.S. Marshals after she refused email service.
The House Judiciary Committee sought documents related to potential misappropriation of federal funds in relation to the indictment of former President Donald Trump.
Lt. Governor Burt Jones has formed a bipartisan committee to investigate allegations against Willis, including her relationship with a prosecutor and misuse of taxpayer funds.
Willis admitted to a relationship with the prosecutor, Nathan Wade, whom she appointed for a case involving Trump.
Trump criticized Willis, alleging that she improperly benefited from the relationship.
Trump posted, “Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.’”
“By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!” he continued.
A witness has also emerged challenging Willis’s claims about the timeline of her relationship with Wade, potentially impacting a legal case.
Michael Roman’s attorney wrote, “Willis and Wade claim they did not have a personal, romantic relationship before Willis appointed Wade as a special prosecutor, but Terrence Bradley (‘Bradley’) will refute that claim.”
“Bradley is an attorney and a member of the Georgia Bar. Bradley and Wade were friends and business associates. Bradley has non-privileged, personal knowledge that the romantic relationship between Wade and Willis began before Willis being sworn as the district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, in January 2021,” they continued in the filing.
