Shortly after the announcement, Puck News reported that Avlon would be running for Congress in New York’s First Congressional District.
This move follows a series of staffing changes at CNN since the resignation of former network president Jeff Zucker in February 2022.
The network has undergone significant shifts, including the cancellation of Reliable Sources and the departure of key figures such as Brian Stelter, John Harwood, and Don Lemon.
These changes reflect a period of transition and evolution at the network.
