Two co-defendants in the election interference trial of former President Donald Trump are seeking to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the case.

They claim that Willis has two strikes against her, citing her relationship with the top prosecutor in the case and racially charged remarks she made.

Five out of 15 people awaiting trial have filed motions to disqualify Willis, and a hearing on the matter is scheduled for February 15th.

“All the causes for the disqualification are self-inflicted blows,” the motion read.

“The obvious intent of her remarks was to inject and infect the jury pool in Fulton County with unfounded allegations that anyone who dares question her or Mr. Wade’s conduct must have done so for racist purposes,” the motion said.

“These comments constitute prosecutorial, forensic misconduct and warrant her removal and that of her office from the prosecution of this case,” the motion read.

Willis is also under fire for allegedly making racially charged and extrajudicial statements.
