Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested for suspected drunk driving, with reports indicating he struggled in sobriety tests and had an open beer in the car.
His son, a prominent NFL quarterback, briefly addressed the situation, calling it a family matter.
This is not the first time Mahomes Sr. has faced DWI charges, having been sentenced for a previous offense in 2019. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

“It’s a family matter, so I’ll keep it to the family. That’s all I have to say,” the quarterback said.
“I believed Patrick was impaired to a perceptible degree while operating a motor vehicle in a public place,” an arresting officer wrote.
