A December poll from the University of Colorado indicates that President Joe Biden holds a seven-point lead over former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical general election race in Colorado.
While Biden’s lead is notable, it represents a significant decrease from his 2020 victory margin in the state.
The survey also reveals that Trump has a stronger appeal to Democrat voters than Biden does with Republicans.
“One of the other things I’m going to do — and I may be foolish in doing it — is I’m going to make a heavy play for New York, heavy play for New Jersey, heavy play for Virginia, heavy play for New Mexico, and a heavy play for a state that hasn’t been won in years, Minnesota,” Trump said.
The poll sampled 800 Colorado adults and has a margin of error of ± 4.23 percent.
