A London judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by former U.S. President Trump against Orbis Business Intelligence over the infamous dossier that contained unverified claims about him.
The judge stated there were no compelling reasons for the claim to proceed to trial.
Trump alleged violations of British data protection laws and sought damages, but the judge ruled that the claim for compensation and damages was bound to fail.
“There are no compelling reasons to allow the claim to proceed to trial,” Judge Karen Steyn said.
The dossier, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele and paid for by Democrats, contained uncorroborated allegations about Trump’s personal conduct.
Orbis argued that the dossier was never meant to be made public and was published without permission.
This ruling comes as Trump faces other legal challenges in the U.S.
